New TIA website aimed at boosting “voice of the tourism industry”
24 July 2009
The Tourism Industry Association New Zealand (TIA) has launched a new website today, aimed at improving online resources for members and boosting the voice of the tourism industry.
The website includes several new features including a regular blog from TIA Chief Executive Tim Cossar and other leading industry commentators, daily industry news, online polls, RSS feeds, video updates and more resources and information on benefits for members.
“It’s our job to promote the importance of the tourism industry as one of New Zealand’s leading export industries, and to promote our members as actively as we can in the global online space,” TIA Chief Executive Tim Cossar says.
“Tourism operators are straight talkers and this site aims to provide easy to read up-to-date information on what’s happening in the tourism industry here and now, and at the same time give members an advanced understanding of national and regional industry issues that could have a longer term impact on their businesses.”
“TIA’s members have also been invited to contribute their own marketing and promotional photos for the website to help promote their businesses and make sure TIA’s new online presence promotes the excitement, adventure and diversity of the New Zealand tourism experience for international readers who may be encouraged to consider a holiday in New Zealand.”
TIA plans to continue to build on the website in Phase 2 of its rollout which will include the updating of TIA’s online membership database and better integration of this database with TIA’s own Customer Relationship Management system in partnership with our tourism website developers Cabbage Tree Creative Ltd, Mr Cossar says.
