Our Goals

TIA’s Mission

To be the strong and inspirational voice of tourism, to deliver real bottom line value to our members, and continue to help build the tourism sector as a strong, vibrant and responsible bedrock industry for New Zealand.

Strategic Objects

  • Goal 1
    To provide leadership among tourism associations and work with them to develop collective agreement on common issues affecting the tourism industry
  • Goal 2
    To position TIA as the lead private sector ‘VOICE OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY’ and ensure that tourism is viewed as a leading and bedrock industry that continues to make a critical contribution to New Zealand's economic development
  • Goal 3
    To continually aim to add bottom line value to members businesses through our work and to retain and grow TIA’s membership base
  • Goal 4
    To continually advocate for individual members in support of the issues and opportunities they face
  • Goal 5
    Ensuring that members’ objectives and needs are reflected by all levels of government in policy and investment decision making - and that the goals of the NZTS 2015 are retained as agreed benchmarks for the tourism industry
  • Goal 6
    To innovate with our programmes and deliver events and capability development initiatives that are demanded and supported by members
  • Goal 7
    To be a financially sound association that is able to benefit member businesses and to have a strong governance and membership structure that enables the organisation to thrive
