Tourism Energy Efficiency Programme
Saving Energy and Saving Money
The Tourism Energy Efficiency Programme (TEEP) is offered by TIA and the Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority (EECA) to improve the energy efficiency of New Zealand tourism businesses.
TEEP provides practical assistance for TIA members to reduce their electricity consumption, fuel consumption and carbon emissions and save money in the process. Reducing energy consumption can also give businesses a competitive marketing advantage with visitors who increasingly expect tourism providers to walk the green talk.

TEEP 2010
Small and medium sized tourism operators in Wellington and Auckland have been given the opportunity to take advantage of a free energy efficiency package worth the equivalent of $3000. The package includes a free energy assessment by an EcoSmart electrician and a subsidy to install the assessment’s recommendations.
Later in the year we will also offer subsidies for TIA members to undertake driver training through the New Zealand Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving programme. These sorts of driver training programmes can result in fuel savings of up to 10%.
