Policy Positions

Peer to Peer Accommodation

TIA advocates that the Government closely monitors and investigates international management of the p2p sector and sets requirements that provide for fairness, quality and provision of a safe and compelling visitor experience.

The Tourism Sustainability Commitment aims for New Zealand to deliver world leading experiences for visitors and it’s important the p2p sector is recognised within this.

TIA recognises that p2p or shared accommodation offers additional choice to consumers and that it fills an important need, especially over peak periods.

TIA believes a strong national policy framework to guide local government in developing rules and regulations for the p2p accommodation sector is needed.
