The voice of our future generation offers Tiaki Promise

28 November 2019

Kiwi kids are asking New Zealanders and our international visitors to look after our home in a new Tiaki summer campaign.

TIA and six other key New Zealand organisations joined forces to develop Tiaki – Care for New Zealand in November 2018. The summer campaign is the latest part of the initiative which actively encourages all travellers to act as guardians of Aotearoa.

The campaign encourages care for land, sea and nature, travelling with an open heart and mind, considering others and respecting culture. These messages are delivered by young people asking New Zealanders and visitors to stand behind the principles of Tiaki and act as proud guardians while they travel around our beautiful country.

“Hearing the Tiaki messages from young people is crucial," says TIA Chief Executive Chris Roberts. "Everyone deserves a safe, clean place to grow up in, and the new campaign gives practical examples of how all visitors can contribute to a better Aotearoa for everyone."

"TIA encourages tourism operators throughout the country to share the latest videos from the Tiaki campaign with their visitors, so that everyone gets on board with the important task of caring for our country.”

The new Tiaki campaign videos can be downloaded for publication here:
